2025 Small Farmer of the Year Nomination


The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce and Lowndes County Government are partnering to present the 2025 Farmer of the Year Awards, sponsored by CJB Applied Technologies. 

Anyone may nominate a Small and/or Large Farmer. To be eligible to receive the award a farmer must farm in Lowndes and/or Echols Counties. 

Small Farmer of the Year- A small farmer is considered someone who has earned an average (over the last three years) annual gross farm income of less than $200,000.   

Large Farmer of the Year- A large farmer is considered someone who has earned an average (over the last three years) annual gross farm income of more than $200,000.

Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30th.

Over the last 24 months, farmers have faced significant devastation due to Hurricanes Idalia, Debby, and Helene. Please share how this farmer has demonstrated resilience, innovation, and perseverance in overcoming these challenges.
